“Several people in NRK expressed concern before publication. This should have resulted in a longer break in production. More time should have been spent and alternative solutions proposed before a new publication decision was made.”
It is one of the learning points in the internal evaluation in NRK of the “Bamsegut” case, writes NRK.
The evaluation was presented at the Skup conference in Tønsberg on Saturday by broadcasting manager, Vibeke Fürst Haugen.
Skeptical that the judgment should be omitted
According to the evaluation, Haugen expressed skepticism that the assault conviction should be omitted from the series. However, she did not request a full review of the series prior to publication.
– I still regret that I didn’t do it, she said from the stage at Skup, according to NRK.
Haugen says that several people have reacted to the fact that NRK has not been out with the evaluation earlier.
– We have taken the matter seriously. We need to communicate internally before we do it externally. It is demanding to self-flagellate for the open stage, she adds Media24.

The TV series “Ingen elsker Bamsegutt” was broadcast on NRK in the autumn of 2023. It was depublished following only one week, following it became known that the man who took part in the series had a conditional morality sentence once morest him.
NRK was made aware of the verdict a month before publication of the series, but chose not to mention it.
The head of broadcasting emphasizes on Saturday that it is not NRK that has it worst.

Was provoked by watching the series
Two of the victims in the case from 1991 were present at the Skup conference, several newspapers write. In front of a packed hall of journalists, they talked regarding what it was like to watch NRK’s documentary.
– I was very provoked. I almost felt the abuse once more, said one of them, writes TV 2.
– I became very unwell, and almost went back to where I was as a child, said the other victim.
Request reinstatement
On Saturday, it was also known that the lawyer for “Bamsegutt” is considering requesting a review of the sentence from 1991.
– Together with my client, I am considering requesting a reopening of the case, which I believe may be grounds for this, says lawyer Leif Strøm to Aftenposten.
Bamsegutt has always denied criminal guilt for the immorality sentence he was sentenced for in 1991.
– This does not mean that the victims have not been subjected to abuse, but that there is another perpetrator, says Strøm further.
