Will EDF’s reactors be ready to run at full speed next winter? Five months after the discovery of the first traces of corrosion on the pipes of reactor number one at the Civaux power plant in New Aquitaine, this crucial question for the supply of electricity to the French is still unresolved.

“Many reactor control activities are still in progress at EDF. The identification of the perimeter of the phenomenon continues”, confirms to “Echos” the deputy director general of the Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN), Julien Collet. In other words, at this stage, EDF has not yet definitively identified the list of reactors that it will need to repair.
