Nearly sixty percent of respondents said that Belgium should invest in new power plants. Seven out of ten people approved of the Belgian government’s decision to extend the country’s two most recent reactors. Only six of ten thought that all of Belgium’s reactors should be extended, however, as two are currently closed. Lhe Belgians’ shift in favor of nuclear power is confirmed. Asked to comment on the extension of nuclear reactors, the people interviewed by Ipsos for Le Soir, RTL Info, The Latest News
and VTM overwhelmingly answer in the affirmative. Seven out of ten people approve of the government’s decision to extend the two reactors of Doel 4 and Tihange 3, the most recent of the Belgian nuclear fleet. Six out of ten even believe that all the reactors should be extended (two are currently closed).
