A consolidation movement has begun in the fragmented professional hygiene market: the Lyonnais Paredes launched on June 28 an offer to take over its competitor Orapi with the aim of forming a group of European size. Paredes proposes to initially take over the shares of the family of Guy Chifflot, founder of Orapi, ie 35% of the capital, which will be transformed into 46% thanks to convertible bonds. As well as the 29.8% of the Kartesia investment fund, which entered in 2020 to help Orapi restructure its debt. The transaction values Orapi at 78 million euros, “i.e. a premium of 47% on the average share price over the last three months“, underlines François Tguilleur, president of Paredes.
