To mark its rejection of the social agreement of February 24, 2022, the Independent Union of Nurses (SII) organized a sit-in in front of the parliament in Rabat this Friday, to push the government to honor its commitments.
Under the theme ” Salary justice for nurses and health technicians above allt”, the members of the SII wanted to demonstrate in “commemoration of February 24″, a date which marks the signing of a social agreement between the government and the most representative trade unions in the sector, which the SII describes as ” exclusion agreement against nurses and health technicians, which is the result of a clandestine and offensive social dialogue for the country’s institutions and the representation of employees« .
On the occasion, the SII called on the government to respond to its demands, namely the creation of the order of nurses, the recruitment of unemployed graduates to fill the shortage, the development of the REC ..), in order to succeed in the health sector reform project.
In this sense, he recalled the promise of the head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, a year ago, to increase the salaries of nurses and health technicians to 8,000 Dh net.
A promise that has never been kept, underlines the Syndicate, “which has exacerbated the anger of this category of health professionals, most of whom are considering leaving the country, like their colleagues before them, to other places that value their skills and treat them fairly , particularly in terms of salary.
In this regard, the national office of the SII, which decided to demonstrate this Friday to send a strong message to the government, announced its readiness to organize a national march, the date of which will be set later.
Ultimately, the national office of the SII recalls that the general reform of the system cannot succeed without clear investment in one of the largest categories of professionals in the sector, and this, through recognition and real salary justice towards nurses and health technicians.
It should be recalled that among the grievances of nurses and health technicians are the motivation of health managers and the improvement of working conditions, fairness in the professional risk premium, the revision of promotion conditions, the creation of the National Order of Nurses and Health Technicians as well as the development of the employment and skills reference system (REC).
