Many are waiting for the NVIDIA presentation, where they are expected to present the RTX 40 Super line. It looks like AMD’s success is forcing us to rethink our approach to pricing.

The presentation of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super is expected at CES. Meanwhile, remarkable information emerged.

Moore’s Law Is Dead insider has received messages from several sources regarding the cost of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Super video cards.

Prices are expected to be as follows:

  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super —$999 // for comparison, at launch RTX 4080 price tag was $1199
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super — $799
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super – $599 // at launch RTX 4070 cost $599
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (Standard) – will remain with a new suggested retail price of $549

Also source #1 at the end of the message mentions “a others will be EOL» (End of Life this is the “end of life cycle”, i.e. implies termination of sale).

Perhaps this pricing by NVIDIA may be due to AMD’s success in the $500-600 segment. For example, Moore’s Law Is Dead notes that it is selling “damn well” AMD RX 7800 XT ($499 at launch and currently offering ~$519 – 569).

In turn, the RTX 4070 Ti Super with 16 GB for $799 could be the “answer” AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT ($899 at launch and now ~$799; it has 20 GB).
