ÖAMTC: 20 kilometers of traffic jams on the Innkreis Autobahn (A8)

Accidents on site and on German territory, Europe 3 on site

Vienna (OTS) According to ÖAMTC mobility information, two accidents on Wednesday afternoon led to a traffic jam of around 20 kilometers on the Innkreis Autobahn (A8) in the direction of Suben. First, at around 1:00 p.m., an accident and the resulting roadblock on the German A3 caused a backlog across the border near Suben. At around 2:00 p.m., a van drove into the end of the traffic jam, a truck. The driver of the transporter was trapped and the Christophorus Europa 3 rescue helicopter was requested. Because of the rescue work and the landing of Europa 3, the A8 was closed at St. Marienkirchen. The approximately 45-year-old driver was flown to the Passau Clinic. The traffic jam built up over 20 kilometers during the afternoon, stretching back from Suben to Ried im Innkreis.
