ÖAMTC: Traffic jams on the return journey | ÖAMTC media mobility information, April 10, 2023

Accidents in the Karawanken Tunnel (A11) and the South Autobahn (A2)

Vienna (OTS) According to ÖAMTC mobility information, there were still traffic jams on the return journey on Monday afternoon on an otherwise relatively quiet Easter weekend. In addition to the expected overloads in Tyrol (A13, B179, B169), Salzburg (A10) and Styria (A9), accidents caused longer time losses.

The Karawanken Tunnel (A11) had to be closed for about an hour after an accident on the Slovenian side at around 3:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., it was still backing up about five kilometers at the point of entry, a time loss of about half an hour.

After an accident at about 4:00 p.m. on the south autobahn (A2) near Grimmenstein in the direction of Vienna, the scene of the accident was difficult to pass. The result was a traffic jam of around 10 kilometers. At around 5:30 p.m., this was in the process of dissolving.
