What is a temporary license: Can it be obtained in Florida?
In many states of the country, people who, until a few years or months ago, could not get a driver’s license because they did not have immigration papers in order, can obtain it if they meet certain requirements. Main identification document
To meet this requirement, the applicant can present ANY of the following options:
First of all, residence card, visa. Also, Form I-94 or Form I-551 is valid; in both cases with their respective wet stamp in the passport. When must a driver obtain a Florida driver’s license?
You must obtain a Florida license within 30 days of becoming a resident. You are considered a Florida resident if:
Enroll your children in public school, or Register to vote, or Apply for a housing exemption, or Accept a job, or Reside in Florida for more than six consecutive months.
Current law requires drivers to provide proof of legal name, legal presence, Social Security Number, and two forms of residential address. If your name has ever been changed by marriage, divorce, or court order, you must submit these documents. You will need to provide proof of any and all name changes.

If you are unable to provide the necessary documents, you may be issued a 60 day temporary permit, as long as your out-of-state license is valid or has expired 60 days or less. This will allow you to drive for 60 days while you get your documents.
