Thick plate shearing group The amount of thick and medium plate cut slightly increased in October compared to the previous month
According to the October 2023 steel plate distribution survey compiled by the National Plate Shearing Industry Association, the cutting volume of thick and medium plates increased by 144 tons, or 0.1%, from the previous month to 126,553 tons. Shipments increased by 985 tons, or 0.6%, to 153,935 tons. Both cutting volume and shipping volume increased for the second consecutive month, with each increasing slightly. End-of-month inventory was 373,286 tons, a decrease of 1,097 tons or 0.3% from the same period of the previous year, marking a decline for the 14th consecutive month. Due to an increase in shipments and a decrease in inventory, the inventory ratio decreased by 2.3 percentage points to 242.5%, falling for the second consecutive month.
