Yesterday, Tuesday, Microsoft announced the end of support for the Windows 8.1 operating system, according to what the company confirmed on its blog.

Microsoft stated that after January 10, users of the system will not be provided with technical assistance for any reason, nor will it provide updates for programs and security systems. However, a computer running this operating system will continue to function, but without updates.

The company recommended that you upgrade to a version of the operating system that is still supported, for example, to Windows 11.

Also, starting today, she said, users will not be able to purchase and install apps and games from the Microsoft Store on their Windows 8.1 computers.

It is noteworthy that Microsoft introduced the Windows 8.1 operating system in 2013 and this system is mostly intended for touch-screen computers, however, it also supports classic computers.
