The cast of “Emily in Paris” “Emily in Paris” walked the red carpet on Tuesday in the French capital to attend the premiere of the third season of the popular Netflix series, in a cinema on Avenue Montaigne.
Author Darren Star stated that the upcoming seasons will deal with the characters of the series in more depth.
“Behind every person is a powerful story, and the series is no longer just about Emily,” Starr added.
In the sitcom, which premieres on December 21, Lily Collins plays Emily, an American who moves from Chicago to the French capital to work in a marketing job.
“Emily this season is more down-to-earth, a lot more confident, and she tends to be more French,” Collins says.
The series, which was watched by 58 million people in its early months, was shown at the height of the Corona pandemic in 2020 and became the most watched comic series on the Netflix platform that year.
Kate Walsh, who plays Madeline Wheeler, said that many fans gathered in the streets during the filming of the current season.
But the series has sparked criticism in France for the way it portrays Parisians, while prompting groups of visitors from abroad to visit the French capital to take “selfies” in front of the Eiffel Tower and eat meals at Emily’s favorite restaurants.

French Emily’s director Philippeine Leroy-Beaulieu explained that while the series makes fun of the French, it also makes fun of Americans, but hinted at the new collaboration between her character and Emily.
