“This year’s Lunar New Year, if the prices of food items and vegetables are basically stable, the price of fresh flowers will double, triple or even quadruple compared to normal days.” That is the common feeling of many people going to the market for two or three days.
For example, at Quang An flower market (Tay Ho district) on the 29th of Tet, two bouquets of dahlias and a small bouquet of Violet flowers were priced at nearly 500,000 VND. Particularly for dahlia vermicelli (one flower two colors) costs 300,000 VND/bundle of 10 flowers. A small trader said that this year, the price of dahlia flowers is higher than last year’s Tet holiday because many fields are bad, and the number of flowers is also less.

Every year, my family buys dahlias and gladiolus flowers, but this year these two types of flowers are too expensive, so I switched to other flowers with cheaper prices.
Surveys around some retail markets in the inner city of Hanoi show that flower prices are still much higher than weekdays and there is no common price. The same type of rose, but some places sell 35,000/branch, some places sell 30,000 VND, some places only 15,000 VND. Or Violet has a place that sells 15,000 VND / branch, there is a place that sells 10,000 VND / branch.
