One seriously injured in an ATV accident in the Laurentians

A man in his thirties, possibly under the effects of alcohol, was seriously injured when he fell from his mountain bike on Friday followingnoon in Mille Isles, in the Laurentians.

Around 4:00 p.m., a man in his thirties lost control of his ATV and rolled several times on Massie Road in Mille Isles. He was transported to a hospital with major injuries, reported Genevieve Bruneau, public relations officer for the Sureté du Québec (SQ).

“According to our first information, alcohol might be involved,” she said.

A collision scene reconstructionist will go to the scene to determine what may have happened.

On average, 29 people die each year while mountain biking according to data from the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec.
