Only 16 days off to have 24 days off this summer: how to optimize your days off in 2022

The year has just started and the counters are reset to zero for everyone. And so for our days of annual leave. Whether we have twenty or more (a small thought all the same to the self-employed and young workers who do not benefit from them), it is always good to play on public holidays to gain a few days and place them elsewhere. A quick overview to find out about the possibilities that 2022 offers us. For this month of January, the 1st has already passed and fell on a Saturday. Those who work on Saturdays will have benefited, others can pick it up later in the year. To find another holiday, you have to – like every year – wait for Easter Monday. It falls on April 18 this year, enough to take advantage of a nine-day hiatus for four days of leave taken.

For the May holidays, the bad news is that Labor Day (1/5) falls on a Sunday. It will therefore be necessary to recover this day later, for those who can. Ascension falls on Thursday, May 26. There too, we gain a day off by taking the week, or a four-day weekend. You can even take a second week after this holiday to take advantage of a bonus day on Whit Monday, June 6. It would therefore be necessary to take nine days off, for fifteen days of rest in total.

Another long weekend that is offered to those who work during the summer, it is around the National Day (21/7) which falls this year on a Thursday. Enough to start your vacation earlier, for example, by taking leave on Friday, July 22. And for those who can take a long summer vacation, why not push it until August 15, which falls on a Monday? This would therefore make three full weeks, plus three days, including two holidays, or 24 days off for 16 days off.

After the start of the school year, let’s not forget that the school calendar will change, with two weeks of vacation scheduled for All Saints’ Day, from Monday October 24 to Friday November 4. November 1 therefore falls in the course of the second week, a Tuesday. By taking Monday off, that makes a four-day weekend for parents who can take care of their children. Another long weekend is possible on November 11 which falls on a Friday in 2022. Small bonus even for those (civil servants, generally) who have a day off for King’s Day, November 15. This holiday falls on a Tuesday and allows you to have five days of rest, for a single day off taken.

Finally, December 25th falls on a Sunday this year, and we already wish you good luck for the recovery from the 26th. Unless you have a few days left to take …
