The expectation is maintained to know what the official results of the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections are, according to the minutes processed and accounted for by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE). It should be noted that the former include those that are sent to the Special Electoral Juries (JEE) for any observation, objection or questioning.

The first preview of official results was delivered by ONPE last night minutes after 10:00 p.m.

How’s the vote count going?

According to the ONPE report at 9:42 a.m. this Monday, October 3, and with 97.595% of tally sheets recorded (100% of tally sheets processed), Rafael López Aliaga, from Renovación Popular, achieved 26,287% of valid votes (1,373,774 votes) and Daniel Urresti, from Podemos Perú, obtained 25,379% of valid votes (1′326,296 votes).

That is, so far, it separates them a difference of 47,078 votes. They are followed by:

George Forsyth, from Somos Perú, who achieved 18,935%; Elizabeth León, from the Front of Hope, with 10,927%; Omar Chehade, from Alianza para el Progreso, obtains 7,108%; Gonzalo Alegría, from Together for Peru, with 6,384%; María Soto, from Avanza País, with 3,506%; and Yuri Castro, from Peru Libre, obtained 1,474% of the valid votes.

The data

According to the electoral law, a second electoral round will have to be carried out in the regions where no political organization has exceeded 30% of the votes on Sunday, October 2.
