Ons Jaber loses the US Open final

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Tunisian player Ons Jaber lost the final of the 2022 US Open Tennis Championships (one of the Grand Slam tournaments), in front of Polish player Iga Švientek, with two clean sets.

Iga Šviontik, ranked number one in the world, outperformed Anas Jaber, ranked fifth in the world, in the two sets, with a score of 6/2 and 6/7.

This is the second final of Ons Jaber in the Grand Slam tournaments this year, as she has previously reached the Wimbledon final, and also lost the title, once morest Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in two sets to one.

Anas Jaber, nicknamed “Minister of Happiness”, is considered the first Arab and African player, throughout history, to reach the final of the US Open and Wimbledon, in the same year.

And Anas Jaber, 28, previously won the Madrid Championship with 1000 points, and the Berlin Championship with 500 points, in 2022.
