There is a small biotope with three koi, a stream with a wooden bridge over it, narrow paths with gravel, sculptures from which plants grow and raised beds with lettuce, cucumbers and chili. “I am the woman with the green thumb, my husband is responsible for the rough work,” says the amateur gardener. When we visit, the daylilies, roses, hydrangeas and coneflowers are in bloom, the trees are bearing apples, pears, figs and kiwis, the bushes are bearing currants and raspberries. The schnapps made from the first fruits has already been made, and the vegetables are regularly cooked.
