Operation to Identify Child Sexual Abuse Perpetrators: Global Task Force Identifies 311 Victims

A Belgian investigator from the Directorate for the Fight once morest Serious and Organized Crime (DJSOC) participated in Washington DC in this operation aimed at identifying the victims and perpetrators appearing in online images of child sexual abuse. For three weeks, investigators from the FBI, international and European criminal police agencies Interpol and Europol, as well as other services from 14 different countries took part in the operation. Together, they tracked down details to identify where the children, victims and perpetrators were assaulted.

In total, the international task force enabled the potential identification of 311 victims. In Belgium, information concerning two cases has been received. These “will have to be verified and confirmed by local investigations”, added the federal police.
