Optimizing Sidewalk Design: Urbanist Insights and Future Considerations

2023-11-08 03:20:52

“Initially, the design documentation included a sidewalk width of 2.25 meters,” explained urbanist Vladimir Zlokazov. “It wasn’t enough, but at least it was within the minimum standard.” But, apparently, the original drawing data was not very accurate and the result was a sidewalk 1.5 meters wide, almost half of which was also “eaten up” by the fence. I think that in the future many people will walk (as well as ride bicycles and electric scooters) along tram tracks. You can also expect that this sidewalk will not be cleared in the winter because it is too narrow for a tractor and because of the overhead utility pole.
