Orbe (VD)“This is the first time that we have returned to the scene of the tragedy”

On Wednesday, family and relatives of the apprentice knocked down by a train last year marched on the course that led to the death of the young girl.

Wednesday, exactly one year later the drama who snatched young Camille from life, around seventy people gathered to mark this sad anniversary. “For many of us, this is the first time that we have returned to the scene of the tragedy,” says the mother of the 20-year-old apprentice, hit by a train on the way to school. “It was heavy and very emotional, but it feels good to get through this together. It gave us the courage to get there.” The procession was made up only of family and loved ones, and retraced the path taken by Camille that morning.

The circumstances and causes of the girl’s death have yet to pass through the hands of justice, another milestone eagerly awaited by those close to the young woman. A report has been made last week by the Confederation, giving the Public Prosecutor the keys to move forward in the procedure opened against the mechanic at the controls as well as his foreman. The report notes in particular that the speed of the locomotive was too high, as well as signaling problems and shortcomings in the measures to secure the passage.
