Organic Mamón: a sweet commitment to sustainable agriculture in Acahay

Asunción, IP Agency.- At the heart of the Caraguataymi company lies the passion for the land and the fruits of nature. Armando Araujo is an organic producer who, together with his family, has been cultivating organic mamón for more than three years, a delicious and healthy alternative that conquers palates and contributes to caring for the environment.

At the end of 2019, a family project took root in Acahay. Convinced that sustainable production is the way, Araujo embarked on the adventure of growing organic mamón, starting with 150 seedlings of the Japanese tainung variety.

Today, his plot houses almost 700 plants of the red lady variety, even sweeter and tastier, as he commented on Tribuna, a program broadcast on Paraguay TV.

More than flavor it is a commitment

Araujo argues that it is possible to feed the world without destroying it through sustainable agricultural practices. Behind each organic mamón there is a philosophy of care and respect for the planet.

From sowing seeds in paper pots to harvesting, each step is done with natural inputs, such as fertilizers made from organic waste. “It is a challenge, but the satisfaction of offering a product free of agrochemicals and contributing to the well-being of the planet is unmatched,” says Araujo.

The organic mammon from Acahay not only conquers for its taste, but also for its accessibility. Through social networks, Armando Araujo brings his harvest to the tables of Asuncion, San Lorenzo, Capiatá, Itauguá, Ypacaraí and Areguá.
