Eddie Redmayne is filming the version of the film classic The Day of the Jackal that has been resurrected as a series in Budapest. The Oscar-winning world star received the golden statuette for portraying the legendary physicist Stephen Hawking in the movie The Theory of the Universe, but Harry Potter fans may also know him from the Legendary Beasts movies, in which he played the researcher of magical creatures, Göthe Salmander.
In addition to filming, Eddie Reymayne fortunately has time to explore the Hungarian capital. In September, for example, he visited the Gundel restaurant, and yesterday he appeared at the Alkotmány utca cafe of the Madal Cafe chain. Sample Welovebudapest.com portal, the employees of the store told
the actor arrived alone, asked for a latte for himself, but also ordered another coffee to take away. Redmayne was reportedly very direct, greeting another cafe patron who recognized him with a “Nice to meet you!”
It is not yet known when the series The Day of the Jackal will debut, but it is certainly worth keeping your eyes open, as you can stumble upon a world star in Budapest at any time, last year, for example, Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, but also the actor of Dune, Mark Strong, filmed here.
