Lucknow openers Decock and KL Rahul

Mumbai: KL Rahul becomes first Indian to score over 500 in IPL for the fifth consecutive season. In the match against Kolkata, the Lucknow captain set another record with his innings partnership with Decock.

Rahul has scored 659 runs in the 2018 IPL season. In 2019, he scored 593 runs. Rahul won the Orange Cap with 670 runs in the 2020 IPL season. He scored 616 runs in 13 games in the 2021 season.

KL Rahul scored 68 off 51 balls against Kolkata. Deco, on the other hand, has been criticized for slowing down Rahul’s innings. But it was here that Deco and Rahul found the record-opening combination.

In 2019, Rahul and Deco broke the opening partnership record of 185 runs set by Bairstow and Deco. Decock also named a player’s personal best score this season.
