Overview of What’s New in Patch 10.1 for Professions – World of Warcraft

Dragonflight patch 10.1 brings several new features for professions. From the disappearance of Primal Chaos to the arrival of new recipes and the spark of shadowflame, I offer you an overview of the changes to come on the side of professions in WoW.

Keep in mind that PTR 10.1 continues to evolve with each build and some information in this article is subject to change between now and the release of the patch next May.

1. Primal Chaos and Shadowflame Spark

With patch 10.1, the Primal Chaos disappears from the game. You can sell them for a pittance, so don’t hesitate to use them if you have any left because from May 3, you won’t be able to do anything with them ^ ^

When it comes to the spark of ingenuity, it’s different. Even if it no longer appears directly on the interface, it is still part of the game. You now have a “+” dedicated to sparks. Spark of Ingenuity will still craft ilvl 382-395 items, but you can also pick up Shadowflame Spark, a more powerful crafting component that allows you to craft Season 2 items with an item level 411-424.

Note that you will be able to upgrade your Season 1 gear with Shadowflame Spark.

2. Equipment: An item level that goes up to 447

By using an optional crafting component, you can increase the level of crafted items up to 447. Here are the 4 new components in patch 10.1:

  • Titans V Training Matrix : This is the new version, it concerns blue objects and it allows to go up to an ilvl 395.
  • Enchanted Wyrmling’s Shadowflame Shield : Again, it concerns rare items and you can thanks to him upgrade to an ilvl 395 to 408.
  • Enchanted Wyrm Shadowflame Crest : We go to the improvement of the epic equipment, which can here reach a level ranging from 424 to 437.
  • Enchanted Aspect Flameshadow Crest : This is the best. The shield is necessarily dedicated to epic equipment and allows you to reach level 434 to 447.

These components are crafted by Enchanters, so it’s a good deal for them since the items are going to be in high demand.

As for the components used to create the enchanted shields, you will find them throughout your adventures in the Embers of Neltharion. The higher the content performed, the higher the coins will be. There are even shards that need to be accumulated in order to create coins that will be used later in your crafting orders.

3. Recipes for everyone

All professions will receive new recipes. However, they will not all be housed in the same boat and Blizzard has been more generous for some than for others.

Thus, sewing, leatherwork or even blacksmithing receive many equipment recipes (especially PvP). It’s the promise of plenty of Labor Points when you first complete them, which is clearly good to take. Jewelers and calligraphers will also be at the party.

Several objects benefit from special powers of which here are several examples.

  • Dealing damage with spells or abilities has a chance to apply spores that stack up to five and then inflict a DoT on the target. Sometimes the spores rot prematurely and you take the damage.
  • When you are below 30% health, you sometimes gain a shield that will absorb damage.
  • A versatility and critical hit buff when you take damage.
  • If you heal an ally, you receive a versatility bonus.

Inscription will come in handy when it comes to Meandering Dragrake since players should be able to craft multiple Watchdrake Scrolls. There are also new glyphs for classes, but it’s relatively limited. New embellishments will also be on the program.

In bulk, know that calligraphy receives a new Vantus rune and a contract with the Flairans de Terreau. Couture is entitled to a bandage and an explorer’s banner. The blacksmiths receive, for example, an object that allows them to throw a ring at a member of the group who is in the water to bring them back to a safe place, as well as a new alloy.

The engineers are entitled to a new toy and bombs. As for the alchemists, they will be able to create two new cauldrons and will be entitled to a new transmutation (Dracothyste). In addition to the equipment discussed above, leatherworkers will notably be able to craft a new armor kit.

I’m far from having made the rounds of the novelties, but here is what still gives you an overview of what awaits you. We end with several screenshots dedicated to the new 10.1 recipes.
