Overwatch League: The Boston Uprising is planning a big renewal

It is in a tweet that the team announces a news that will make some fans jump: the separation of the team with its general manager Chris “HuK” Loranger. He is known for his prowess as a former pro player on Starcraft, but also for having been in charge of the Boston Uprising from the start of their history in 2017.

He was, as an old saying goes, in the oven and in the mill, as he took on the daunting task of being general manager, but also head coach of the team in the team’s first season. The result was nothing short of promising, with a 24-16 regular season record in 2018. It goes without saying that he was able to watch the team change, fight, suffer failures, but above all, jump for joy during victories .

It is now Vytis “Mineral” Lasaitis, the current assistant general manager, who will take over in an attempt to reorganize the team so as to relive the moments of past glory.

After fixing many internal problems over the years, then trying to bring the team back up which is currently going through a losing streak (overall), HuK parted ways with the reason “viability competitive”. It’s unclear what the future holds for Chris “HuK” Loranger, but the team stressed that a thorough review will be done around the roster and that the building of a new future is on the way.

Clearly, it is quite possible that the departure of Chris “HuK” Loranger is only the beginning of a series of departures for the reason of “competitive viability”. This announcement is strangely reminiscent of the Paris Eternal’s decision to review the entire team, going as far as relocating it. This season may not be the best for the Boston Uprising, but we can’t take away their unprecedented competitiveness. All our encouragement goes to Chris “HuK” Loranger for bouncing on his feet like a feline.
