He confirmed, during a telephone interview with the “Hadrat Al-Muwatin” program on Al-Hadath channel today, that high-quality bread was produced, and the product is suitable for human consumption, given the nutritional value contained in this ingredient, and this idea was implemented many years ago and succeeded.

He pointed out that he was studying a project to produce bread through potatoes, and came up with a number of varieties, suitable for use with wheat in the production of bread, pointing out that the project is working on introducing potatoes into the production of bread with wheat, with 40% potatoes and 60% wheat, This reduces the local consumption of wheat, and stops importing from abroad over time, within 3 years at most.

The researcher stressed that the area cultivated with wheat is 3 million and 600,000 feddans, and in the event that 360,000 feddans of potatoes are planted next to them; We will suffice our needs of bread and we will not need to import wheat or flour from abroad.
