From September 24 through October 18, 2026, the city of Pachuca is deploying a technological and tactical security apparatus for the Feria de San Francisco 2026. Operating daily between 00:01 and 05:00 hours, checkpoints and 60 personnel will manage urban mobility, deter vehicle theft, and enforce drunk driving protocols.
Real-Time Surveillance Architecture at the C4 Hub
Municipal logistics for the 25-day event rely on the C4 command center as the technological backup for real-time monitoring via video-surveillance cameras. Security infrastructure integrates live feeds with field units to maintain communication across high-density zones.
The Secretaría de Seguridad Pública, Tránsito y Vialidad de Pachuca has committed a tactical fleet consisting of:
- 16 patrol vehicles
- 24 motorcycle units (motopatrullas)
- 2 tow trucks
- 3 aerial surveillance drones
- 2 Roadside Assistance (Auxilio Vial) units
These assets interface with the C4 hub, allowing for communication with elements deployed in the field to improve the capacity of response to any incident across the city’s main thoroughfares.
Strategic Checkpoint Deployment and Traffic Management
To curb impaired driving during the late-night and early-morning hours, the Dirección de Prevención del Delito is operating sobriety checkpoints (puntos de alcoholimetría) stationed along critical urban arteries. Motorists traveling through bulevares Felipe Ángeles, Nuevo Hidalgo, and Colosio will encounter screening filters.
Simultaneously, traffic control teams are executing interventions around the perimeter of the Recinto Ferial and the Plaza de Toros. These measures aim to streamline public transport corridors and mitigate gridlock during peak hours of attendance.
Targeted Deterrence Against Vehicular Crime
Beyond sobriety enforcement, the operational mandate extends to safeguarding parked and moving property. Preventive patrols are screening vehicles in major parking lots and mass-gathering zones to detect units with a theft report, targeting stolen automobiles, stripped autoparts, and window-smashing thefts (cristalazos).
Municipal authorities, alongside civil protection squads, are maintaining an active posture to secure vulnerable demographics—including children and women—throughout the duration of the 25-day festival. Mayor Jorge Reyes confirmed that the deployment prioritizes both administrative infractions and criminal prevention, ensuring stability while thousands converge on the fairgrounds.
