COORDINATOR of the President’s Special Staff, Ari Dwipayana, denied accusations that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi was involved in the formation of the presidential and vice-president-elect Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s cabinet. Ari said that determining ministers was the prerogative of the elected president.
“The appointment of ministers in the next cabinet is completely the prerogative of the elected President after being inaugurated on October 20 2024,” said Ari in a written statement, Monday (25/3).
Ari emphasized this, responding to a media report which stated that two high-ranking officials from the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) said that Joko Widodo proposed a number of loyalists for the next cabinet. One of them is Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno.
Ari said that the president is currently still focused on completing government tasks. Apart from that, the president also completed development programs until the end of his term of office.
“President Jokowi is focused on working to complete the government and development agenda until the end of his term of office on October 20 2024,” said Ari.
Separately, Chairman of the National Campaign Team (TKN) of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition for presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Rosan Roeslani visited the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (25/3).

Rosan immediately entered the building at the Ministry of State Secretariat at 11.26 WIB, after getting out of the car with plate B 1261 ZZH. He admitted that he met with Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno to report on the celebration of bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United States which will be 75 years old in August 2024, including the comprehensive strategic partnership event that United States President Joe Biden and President Jokowi have agreed to.
Rosan admitted that he did not talk about politics with Pratikno, including discussing the next government cabinet.
“No, no. “Just talk about that (report),” said Rosan to the media when met after the meeting.
