Palestinians reject the Israeli presence in mosques and tension grows

Israel’s Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvirwas in the Esplanade of the Mosques to claim Tel Aviv’s dominance over the site, on the main day of fasting and abstinence in Rabbinic Judaism.

Palestine considered it an “assault to Judaize” the Al Aqsa Mosque and the Islamist Hamas movement, said it “is dangerous for the escalation of the regional religious war.” In addition, the tension grows because Israeli soldiers shot dead to the head of another 14-year-old Palestinian in the West Bank.

On another front, the United Nations commissioner for human rights, Volker Turk called on Israel to rein in demonstrators protesting against the controversial judicial reform promoted by the Netanyahu government to overturn decisions deemed unreasonable.

The situation divides the nation and draws criticism from allies abroad.
