Three years ago, the words pandemic, virus et distancing social burst into our daily vocabulary. With the arrival of COVID-19, the healthcare system in Ontario has been turned upside down. At the forefront of the cases initially identified in Toronto was Dr. Jerome Leis, chief of infection prevention and control at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. He explains to us that the pandemic is coming to an end according to the indicators.

Dr. Leis explains that the World Health Organization will have a big role to play in convincing health workers that the pandemic is over.

He adds that the virus is still having severe effects for the most vulnerable populations and that there are still deaths that are linked to COVID-19.
