Park Hang-seo’s Vietnam, Shin Tae-yong’s Indonesia 3-0 in the Southeast Asian Games

The Vietnam Under-23 (U-23) men’s soccer team led by coach Park Hang-seo defeated Shin Tae-yong’s Indonesia U-23 team.

Vietnam defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the first leg of the men’s soccer group stage of the 2021 Southeast Asian Games (SEA) held at Viettri Stadium in Phu Tho, Vietnam.

Vietnam, who faced 0-0 in the first half, scored three goals only in the second half and took the lead.

Nguyen Thien Lin opened the goal in the 9th minute of the second half, and in the 29th minute of the second half, captain Do Hongdong added a goal to make it 2-0.

Vietnam tied the knot with their third goal in the 42nd minute of the second half.

Le Van Xuan’s left-footed shot from the penalty area hit the crossbar, but Levando’s shot from outside the box went straight into the net.

Vietnam, which had previously defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the men’s soccer final in 2019, won another three-goal victory.

Vietnam and Indonesia are tied in Group A with Myanmar, the Philippines and East Timor.

The group stage, in which 10 teams participate, is divided into two groups of 5 teams each, and the top two in each group advance to the quarterfinals.

Vietnam finished second in Group 2 after the Philippines, which defeated East Timor 4-0, while Indonesia finished fourth.
