In the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) Mitsubishi Electric Cup (Mitsubishi Cup), Vietnam’s coach Park Hang-seo and Indonesia’s coach Shin Tae-yong will face off.
The Vietnamese national soccer team, led by coach Park Hang-seo, won a 3-0 home game against Myanmar on the 3rd in the final Group B 4th match of the 2022 Mitsubishi Cup group stage.
Vietnam advanced to the semifinals with the score of 1st place in the scoreless group. Park Hang-Seo-Ho is scheduled to face off against Indonesia, led by Shin Tae-Yong, to advance to the final.
At the post-game press conference, coach Park said, “As a coach, I am grateful that the players did their best to achieve first place in each game.”
Coach Park said, “Looking at Indonesia’s recent performance, coach Shin Tae-yong has naturalized many good players, and it is true that the players have upgraded physically, tactically and technically.”
Vietnam has traditionally been weak against Indonesia, but has gained the upper hand after Park took office.
However, they rarely won the AFF Cup. After Shin took over as coach of the Indonesian team, the match in the group stage of the previous tournament, which took place, drew 0-0.

Coach Park, who was appointed as the head coach of the Vietnamese national soccer team in 2017, led Vietnam to the semifinals of the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games in 2018 and the championship of the Mitsubishi Cup.
