National Council President Wolfgang Sobotka assures unconditional solidarity with Israel’s designated ambassador David Roet
Vienna (PK) – As a sign of solidarity, the parliament is illuminated in the national colors of Israel. At his meeting this evening with Israel’s designated ambassador to Austria David Roet, National Council President Wolfgang Sobotka assured unlimited solidarity with Israel and its people.
“Parliament strongly condemns the terror of Hamas and its supporters and calls for the unconditional release of all hostages to end the suffering of civilians. We stand with Israel in its right to defend its citizens and their security “Terrorism has no place in our world and we must do everything in our power to combat such radical ideas,” the National Council President told Roet.
“I would like to thank National Council President Wolfgang Sobotka for the impressive initiative to illuminate the Austrian Parliament in the colors of Israel. I deeply appreciate the non-partisan support from Austria’s politicians for Israel, the clear and unequivocal condemnation of Hamas’ brutal terror and the strong signal of unrestricted solidarity with Israel and its people. Israel has the right to defend itself and the duty to protect its citizens with all possible measures against this barbaric terrorism,” said Roet. (End) red
