Caracas, Nov 5 (EFE).- Representatives of several countries agreed in Caracas, within the framework of the first World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum, to create an international network to fight against this current that they consider a threat from “imperialism,” announced this Tuesday the president of the Venezuelan Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez.
“We announce the establishment of a global anti-fascist network that will be fed by the delegates of this fabulous meeting,” said Rodríguez in a televised event at the end of the forum – inaugurated on Monday -, in which representatives from more than 53 countries participated, according to him. President Nicolás Maduro during the opening of the event.
The deputy, who did not give details about this new network, thanked the presence of parliamentarians from all continents to fight against fascism and neo-fascism, currents with which Chavismo links its main political adversary, the coalition of Democratic Unitary Platform parties. (PUD).
Rodríguez also announced the formation of a “parliamentary observatory of countries attacked by the criminal action” of “imperialism and North American imperialism”, in reference to the US Administration, critical of the Chavista Government.
This observatory, indicated the parliamentarian, will study the impact of “criminal sanctions” imposed “by hegemonic factors” to countries such as Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Russia and other members of the anti-fascist forum.
During the two days of activities, he added, meetings were held for young parliamentarians, women and workers.
Likewise, it was agreed to establish a parliamentary network “for sovereignty and peace” of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), made up of Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis , Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Dominica and Saint Lucia.
