The influencers of the Sunwing flight who did not respect the sanitary measures on board the aircraft on December 30 will have to pay a total of $59,500 in fines, according to Transport Canada.

The federal agency said the majority of passengers who committed offenses received their tickets, for a total of 42 fines.
Thirty-seven of the 154 passengers violated the rules, informs Transport Canada, which has been investigating since January 4. “Eighteen [contraventions] are related to non-compliance with vaccination status, and 24 are related to non-compliance with instructions on wearing a mask. The total value of these fines, which can reach a maximum of $5,000 each,” the notice reads.
“The rules in aviation should not be taken lightly. With this investigation, we want to send a clear message: the behaviors of some passengers on the Montreal-Cancún flight on December 30 were unacceptable, and they are not tolerated. Transport Canada will continue to ensure that all aviation rules are respected at all times,” said Minister Omar Alghabra.

Some travelers had difficulty returning home following the broadcast of these videos, several airlines refusing to board them due to non-compliance with their vaccination status.
