Al-Marsad newspaper: The General Directorate of Passports clarified that the employer can issue and renew a resident’s identity for those under his sponsorship electronically, quarterly or semi-annually, through the “Absher Business” and “Muqeem” platforms.
The Jawazat indicated that this mechanism will enable the employer to renew residency permits according to his need for varying periods, either for 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, or for a period of 12-24 months.
In the event that the worker or resident is outside the Kingdom, the employer can, through the “Absher” or “Muqeem” platform, renew the “Muqeem ID” and then complete the extension of the exit and return visa for those abroad electronically after paying the fees through the SADAD service.
