The former municipal councilor and deputy mayor of Patreon (1989-1992), Dimitris Vakaloglou, has passed away.. Mimis, as most people knew him, was the longest-serving Municipal Councilor of Patreon with a 32-year term.
Among the highlights of his political career was the implementation of the institution of the school guard from 2002, when after persistent efforts the first 90 jobs were announced.
Dimitris Vakaloglou passed away yesterday morning, Monday 25/03/2024 at the age of 88 in a private hospital in Patras, where he was hospitalized after chronic health problems. In July 2023, his wife Alexa had also passed away and now they will coexist in the “neighborhood of angels”. They were happy to have two children, Elpida and Giorgos, and their grandchildren were also happy.
Including, he was a historical member of the New Democracywhile in his professional career he served Education as a teacher, high school principal and also the owner of a tutoring schooln. In addition, he also served sports from the position of its president Panachaikis and his Ari Patron.

The funeral of Dimitris Vakaloglou will take place on Wednesday 27/03/2024, at 12 noon from the Church of Agios Dionysios in Patraswhile the burial will follow in the First Cemetery of Patras.
