Thrissur: Relatives complain that the death of a young woman in Attupuram was due to mental torture by her husband. Police have registered a case against her husband. Firuz, a native of Attupuram, Thrissur, was found hanging in the bedroom of his house.

Family members say Firuz hanged himself shortly after her husband’s phone call. The relatives allege that the death was due to the mental torture of the husband. He died on February 8 last year. Jafar, a native of Naranipuzha, has been booked by the police.
Jafar is abroad. Jaffar married Firuz a year and a half ago. They have a four – month – old baby girl. Firuz was abroad with Jafar after marriage. Relatives say Firuz suffered from mental illness after becoming pregnant. Relatives said Jafar and his family had been misbehaving when they learned the baby was a girl.
Due to her husband’s harassment, Firuz’s parents brought her to a house by the river. After this, he was constantly threatened over the phone. The phone conversations were handed over to the police as evidence. Jafar also complained that he was not ready to protect Firuz and the baby after giving birth. The baby girl is now in the care of Firuz’s sister. The locals demanded that Jafar be deported from abroad and imprisoned.
