The tour, which kicks off April 4 in New Orleans, culminates in Seattle a week later. Simon’s Canadian dates,taking place at the iconic Massey Hall in toronto (May 27,28,and May 30) and the Orpheum in Vancouver (July 25,26,and July 28), promise an intimate and unforgettable experience for fans.

“Where I’m at now, I can’t play live,” Simon stated in a June 2023 interview with CBC’s Q host Tom Power.

“What I can’t do at the moment is hear when there are three or four players, which I’ve tried,” he added.

“Paul Simon doesn’t agree with the widely talked-about assessment that his latest album, Seven Psalms, is primarily a reflection of his own mortality. In conversation at his private studio cabin near Austin, Texas, the 81-year-old reveals to CBC’s Tom Power the meaning behind the music, and his hope to perform it live despite losing his hearing.

Paul Simon (PS): Thank you, Alex. It was really my enduring passion for music. I’ve been blessed with a career that’s allowed me to connect with people through my music, and I didn’t want to lose that. So,when I faced these hearing challenges,I wasn’t ready to retire. I wanted to find a way to continue sharing my music with my fans.

AW: And you’ve certainly done that. Tell us about the innovative stage setup you’ve created to accommodate your auditory needs.

PS: I worked closely with my production team and experts at Stanford University’s hearing loss clinic. We’ve created a customized setup using advanced stage technology to enhance sound quality and direction. It enables me to hear and perform at my best.
