Payments may arrive later today after malfunction at payment processor | Tech

Payment processor Equens suffered a malfunction on Monday morning. This has created a backlog in the processing of payments and transfers. Customers of several banks are affected by this.

“Equens had to deal with a malfunction this morning,” an employee of the company confirms to NU.nl. “The problems were resolved around noon.”

The payment processor takes care of the payment traffic between banks. As a result, customers of several banks complain regarding problems with payments and transfers. They do not always arrive directly at the recipient.

“We are working on clearing the backlog in all payments and transfers,” says the Equens employee. “It is expected that all payment orders will be processed by the end of the day.”

Because the backlog has not yet been completely cleared, new orders may still be delayed.
