Positive vortex around Louis van Gaal (70)!
After the classic international match between Holland and Germany (1-1), the Bonds coach carelessly high-fived his players, warmly hugged his former Bayern players Thomas Müller (32) and Bastian Schweinsteiger (37) and hugged national coach Hansi Flick (57). What nobody knew back then: Van Gaal still had a corona-positive PCR test on Monday.
Now Flick has also commented on the corona vortex surrounding van Gaal!
The national coach to BILD: “I was very happy to see Louis van Gaal again in Amsterdam. It was fun playing against his team, it’s a real challenge because I think he’s one of the great coaches. I am sure that he acted responsibly in coordination with the Dutch national team’s medical department and that he did not take any risks for himself or others.”
At the press conference after the game, van Gaal himself revealed: “On Monday I had a positive PCR test. But the doctor told me that it was only residual symptoms of the virus that took longer to detect with a PCR test than with a rapid test.” Then he grinned and added, “Don’t come too close to me!”
Van Gaal was recently infected with Corona. According to his own statements, he had done several quick tests before the test against the DFB-Elf. All results were negative. For the game against Germany, he had tested himself according to the statutes. He was on the sidelines again on the Saturday against Denmark.
However, van Gaal will miss Friday’s group draw for the World Cup in Qatar. The Bonds coach: “Danny Blind (Holland’s assistant coach, editor’s note) is going to Qatar. You have to have a negative PCR test.”
