The historic sports commentator for Televisión Nacional, Pedro Carcuro, had to go out and explain the reason for those strange seconds of silence in the middle of the central edition of 24 Hours. The veteran assured that she was just a fool.
Last Monday night, Constanza Santa María and Iván Núñez presented the sports block welcoming Pedro Carcuro and asking him “What about Arturo Vidal?”
However, to the surprise of the journalists, Carcuro kept his eyes straight ahead and did not answer them. 7 long and awkward seconds of silence passed and the commentator was still frozen.
Núñez had to reiterate his name and got a reaction from his colleague, who finally proceeded to make the sporting comment.
Pedro Carcuro’s explanation

“Yesterday we were in an emergency studio because the one we usually occupy went into restoration. We did not have a monitor, there was a lack of coordination with the management and at that time I did not know that we were on the air. And I remained silent precisely because of that, ”she began by recounting.
“I thought we were preparing how we were going to start, if we were going to make any changes (…) And this situation occurred and I was left like an asshole,” said Carcuro.
He ruled out that they were talking to him through the sonopronter, in fact they did not tell him that they were on the air. “I thought it was part of a rehearsal,” she confessed.
He also ruled out any health problem, as some friends even called him to ask if he was okay. “Are occupational hazards. It really wasn’t my fault. It was a desynchronization. These are things that happen,” insisted the journalist.
