During a meeting with leaders of Metropolitan Lima and social organizations in Peru at the Government Palace, the president asked the organizers of these mobilizations to maintain order.
“I have just had a communication from those organizations from the regions of the country and from the provinces that are being self-convened to make their marches to Lima and I salute because it is necessary to tell them that in this framework we have to conduct ourselves peacefully, with the freedom that characterizes us. , without altering the orderhe expressed.
“In that understanding, I ask the organizations that, raising their voices – like the ronderoslike the universities and you as leaders-, I call on you not only to be defenders of democracy, but also to be an active part of this government through the ministries and to have participation”he added.
The president also rejected the accusation of treason against the fatherland, whose case is being analyzed in the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations of Congress and whose preliminary report recommends disqualifying him for five years.
“They falsely accuse us that we have betrayed the country, but they do not realize that in practice those who accuse us are the ones who betray the country for not giving us a way out of the country to express to a sister republic such as Colombia that there is gone through a democratic party”he underlined.
