The story of Pelé and his illegitimate daughter
Sandra Regina Arantes do Nascimento was the daughter that Pelé had with Anisia Machado, a woman who worked as a domestic employee in his house and that of his family, located in Santos, a municipality of Sao Paulo. However, ‘O Rei’ did not want to recognize her until the Justice forced him to carry out genetic tests, which came out positive.
Pelé recognized his illegitimate daughter in 1991, after a judicial process that took ten years. By accepting that it was blood of his blood, the former Brazilian soccer player who would accept and comply with the obligations mandated by law for being his daughter, but who he was never going to treat her like familyor like his other children: Edinho, Kelly Cristina, Jennifer, Joshua and Celeste.
Sandra Regina was an evangelical pastor and was in politics as a councilor for Santos, her hometown.
However, in 2005 she was diagnosed with breast cancerwho won the battle a year later: In 2006, and at the age of 42, Sandra Regina died after the aggressive disease had caused metastasis in the other breast.
