Pelé is dying in a serious state of health and there is controversy: he is reaping what he sowed for an illegitimate daughter | soccer trivia

Brazil and the world of football are aware of the delicate state of health of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, Peléwho suffers from aggressive colon cancer and it seems that doctors are only waiting for the last days of the former Brazilian soccer player, considered the best of all time.

Interned at the Albert Einstein Hospital, in Sao Paulo, his children accompany him at the most critical moment of his health; he even he would have already said goodbye to other relatives which is not close to ‘The King’.

For its part, the Santos club, where Pelé shone, prepares its 2023 jersey to pay tribute to him; while in his stadium, in Vila Belmiro, they would be preparing an eventual funeral, in case the mythical player in the 10 shirt dies in the coming days.

And while many sadly follow the state of Pelé, a controversy arose because some very strong statements by the journalist came to light again. Sonia Abrãowho for a long time said he did not feel sorry for him, because he is “reaping what you sow” and that is why he suffers pain and bad moments.

Since 2014, Pelé began to decline in his health, because he presented kidney problems (he had a urinary infection) and was even in intensive care. For the past 8 years, she has been suffering severe problems, such as prostate problems, hip surgeries, kidney stones, and limited mobility.

And precisely 8 years ago, Sonia Abrão spoke about the fact that Pelé is ‘paying’ for his “cruelty”, as the universe is taking its toll on him by an act of his, and who is not moved, like the rest of the world, by his ailments and health sufferings.

The story of Pelé and his illegitimate daughter

Sandra Regina Arantes do Nascimento was the daughter that Pelé had with Anisia Machado, a woman who worked as a domestic employee in his house and that of his family, located in Santos, a municipality of Sao Paulo. However, ‘O Rei’ did not want to recognize her until the Justice forced him to carry out genetic tests, which came out positive.

Pelé recognized his illegitimate daughter in 1991, after a judicial process that took ten years. By accepting that it was blood of his blood, the former Brazilian soccer player who would accept and comply with the obligations mandated by law for being his daughter, but who he was never going to treat her like familyor like his other children: Edinho, Kelly Cristina, Jennifer, Joshua and Celeste.

Sandra Regina was an evangelical pastor and was in politics as a councilor for Santos, her hometown.

However, in 2005 she was diagnosed with breast cancerwho won the battle a year later: In 2006, and at the age of 42, Sandra Regina died after the aggressive disease had caused metastasis in the other breast.

Why the indignation of Sandra Abrão?

In some program, the statements of the presenter generated controversy. “She’s reaping what she sowed,” she said without feeling sorry.

In addition, he said that Pelé had a heart of stone for the “cruelty” he committed with his daughter, Sandra Regina.

“I don’t want those things to happen to any human being, I respect and regret that. But her daughter, who was in the last days of life due to aggressive cancer, she did not ask to see her father, she just wanted to talk to him at least through a phone call, and he denied her that opportunity; so I cannot be moved by their suffering”, said Sandra Abrão.

The presenter assured at the time that Pelé did the same with his grandchildren (Sandra Regina’s children), and that is a story that many Brazilians do not want to remember, due to their admiration for ‘O Rei’.
