The competent supplementary insurance department of EFKA decided to apply the ceiling established by law 4997/2022 to the high supplementary pensions of the banks, but imposing all the reductions they had in the old pension!
The ceiling currently stands at 1,534 euros and its application to the high supplementary allowances of banking pensioners by TEAPETE lowered the pensions even below what pensioners received when the cuts of the Katrougalou law were made.
According to information notes that “ET” has in his hands, a pensioner who until February 2024 (before the ceiling) was receiving a supplement of 880 euros, found himself in the March payment (after the ceiling) with a supplement of 458 euros, when with the cuts of the Katrougalou law, his pension had fallen from 880 euros to 588 euros.

The reduction is considered arbitrary because in law 4670/2020 (Vroutsis law) which restored the Katrougalou reductions, it is expressly provided that the supplementary allowances cannot be reduced further after their return to the pre-Katrougalou levels.
The pensioners are protesting the sudden cuts and have already sent an out-of-court letter to the Ministry of Labor and EFKA, while tomorrow Friday they are also organizing a protest outside the Ministry of Labor, demanding the cancellation of the reductions.
