Despite the postponement of the legal age from 62 to 64, the pension system will remain slightly in deficit by 2030, according to the Pensions Orientation Council (COR), and will be even more in the red beyond. . After being in surplus in 2022 and 2023, the balance of the pension system should deteriorate and show a deficit of 0.2% of GDP (around 6 billion euros) in 2030.
This is nevertheless a clear improvement compared to the estimate of the previous report last year, which anticipated a deficit of 0.4% of GDP by this deadline. An evolution linked to the reform but also to the updating of economic and demographic forecasts, insists the COR.
