The Percy Jackson series has found its main actor! The television adaptation of Rick Riordan’s novels produced by Disney Plus has indeed chosen the American actor Walker Scobell to lend his features to the title hero of the program. Thirteen years old, the latter was revealed to the general public thanks to the film Adam through time available on Netflix.
Composed of seven volumes, the literary saga follows the adventures of Percy Jackson, a teenager discovering that he is a demigod, son of Poseidon. Following training to learn how to master his powers, he will embark on a series of quests, accompanied by several comrades in arms: Annabeth Chase (half-goddess, daughter of Athena) or even the Satyr Grover Underwood. From the height of his twelve years, will Percy succeed in saving Olympus from the Titans?
The Percy Jackson series – created by writer Rick Riordan himself and screenwriter Jon Steinberg (Black Sails) – is not the first adaptation of Rick Rioardan’s novels to see the light of day: in 2010, the film Percy Jackson: the lightning thief directed by Chris Columbus (Harry Potter 1 and 2) was released on our screens, followed three years later by a second part, Percy Jackson: The Sea of Monsters.
