Pereira replied to Adesanya: “Revenge is never complete, it kills the soul and poisons”

The duel between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira continues to make people talk, the back and forth and the provocations are constant, something that somehow attracts the world of MMA, although from now on we all want to see what happens in the octagon, that’s where Come the ‘pingos’, we say in Argentine lands.

The Nigerian champion of the category took to social media and used the term “revenge” to talk about the encounter with the Brazilian, who has already beaten him twice in kickboxing. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. Brother, I also said the same. End here. It’s kill or be killed!”

This Monday it was Alex ‘Poatán’ Pereira’s turn to use his social networks to comment on the subject in the best “Seu Madruga” style and left a phrase from the remembered actor: “Revenge is never complete, it kills the soul and poisons”.

The duel was expected since Pereira signed with the company in 2021. The two fighters have fueled a rivalry since the times when they both competed in kickboxing. The Brazilian beat the Nigerian twice, in 2016 and 2017. In the first, by unanimous decision of the judges; in the rematch, in Brazil, he knocked him out.

Since transitioning to MMA, 33-year-old Israel Adesanya has only lost once, when he moved up to light heavyweight (93kg) to challenge Jan Blachowicz for the belt. As a middleweight (84kg), he has 23 fights and 23 wins, including five belt defenses since he unified the division titles by knocking out Robert Whittaker in 2019.

Alex Pereira, 35, made a name for himself in kickboxing, where he was champion of two weight divisions at Glory, the sport’s premier event. In MMA, after debuting with a loss in 2015, he won six fights, four of them since 2020, when he returned to the sport, and three in the UFC.
