The deputy Luis Ángel Tenorio Cruz, presented on the platform of the local Congress, the position on generic sex diversity, in order to remind the members of the 65th legislature that the approval of an initiative to generate a commission for the benefit of the LGBT community.
He stressed that given the statements made by leaders of various countries such as the United States, El Salvador and Argentina, in Mexico human rights must be guaranteed and protected and in Hidalgo progress must be made on the issue since he assured that since the creation of a permanent commission that addresses this sector of the population and its most pressing issues, no progress has been made.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that the discourse of the right seeks in one way or another to condemn and distort the issue to cause panic among society and condemn the sexual diversity sector in the country, for which he emphasized that it is necessary to move forward: “there is a smear campaign from the most rancid and exacerbated social conservatism as well as the most extreme right against those of us who are part of the LGBTTTQ+ population.”
And he added: “The intolerant accuse us of being intolerant, but we champion causes of a population, a historical struggle, a group that must be attended to as a priority due to the vulnerability and intersections that many of us have.”
